How the AI advisor works

The advisor can read your inventory, shopping lists, subscriptions, receipts, preferences, and trips to answer a question. That's what separates it from a general chatbot: asked whether to buy something, it can check whether you already own it.

Recommendations carry a Decision Score with a per-category breakdown, so you can see why something was recommended rather than being asked to trust a number. Where a recommendation names a specific item, Trustiv checks that the item actually exists in your data before showing it.

Answers are generated by Anthropic's Claude. The relevant parts of your household data are sent to that API to produce a response. You can turn AI processing off for your own account in Settings — the rest of the product keeps working without it.

On the free plan you get 20 AI questions per calendar month. The counter resets on the first of the month and only counts questions that actually returned an answer — a failed request doesn't consume quota.
